Stone Circle

Stonehenge

Wiltshire, UK

Overview

Stonehenge radiates a powerful telluric energy that many visitors describe as a palpable vibration rising from the earth through the stones. The monument sits at a convergence of ley lines and its precise geometry appears designed to amplify and focus subtle earth energies. Visitors frequently report altered states of awareness, time distortion, and a deep sense of connection to ancestral consciousness. The site functions as a portal between dimensions of time, particularly potent at solstice and equinox alignments when solar and terrestrial energies synchronize.

History, Archaeology & Significance

Stonehenge is a prehistoric megalithic monument constructed in several phases between approximately 3000 and 2000 BC on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England. The earliest phase consisted of a circular ditch and bank enclosure, while the iconic sarsen stone circle with its massive lintels was erected around 2500 BC. The bluestones, weighing up to 4 tonnes each, were transported from the Preseli Hills in Wales over 150 miles away, representing one of the most remarkable feats of Neolithic engineering. Archaeological excavations have revealed cremation burials, the Aubrey Holes ritual pits, and evidence of astronomical alignments particularly with the summer solstice sunrise and winter solstice sunset. The surrounding landscape contains hundreds of burial mounds, cursus monuments, and the recently discovered Durrington Walls settlement that likely housed the builders.
