Overview
The Sanctuario site resonates with the intense devotional energy characteristic of Extremaduran pilgrimage shrines, places where medieval faith was forged in the crucible of frontier existence. Visitors describe a quality of fervent, concentrated spiritual presence within such sanctuaries, where centuries of prayer have saturated the stones with palpable intention. The Extremaduran landscape's vast, austere beauty amplifies the contemplative atmosphere, creating a sense of being held between the immensity of the land and the intimate devotion of the sacred space. The energy is warm, protective, and deeply nourishing to the soul.

History, Archaeology & Significance
Sanctuario refers to a sanctuary site in the Extremadura region of western Spain, dating to the medieval Christian period around 1400 AD. Extremadura was a frontier zone during the Reconquista, the centuries-long campaign to reclaim the Iberian Peninsula from Moorish control, and many sanctuary churches were established as acts of Christian devotion and territorial assertion. The region preserves a remarkable concentration of medieval religious architecture, often built on sites with earlier Roman or Visigothic sacred associations. Extremaduran sanctuaries frequently occupy dramatic landscape positions, hilltops, riverside settings, or forest clearings, chosen for their natural beauty and spiritual atmosphere.
Rory's Field Notes
Hilltop shrine with Type 4 node. This is Caravaca de la Cruz in Murcia, southern Spain. A 4th Order node on a par with Glastonbury, Giza and Montsegur – nodes that have two pairs of Type 4 lines crossing over as well as two pairs of Type 3s, Type 2s and Type 1 lines. In a small chapel here, the local Knights Templar placed a secret cipher. The locals recall a legend that if ever the message is deciphered it would change the World for good. The key to deciphering came from ancient Jewish Alchemy.
