Pistyll Rhaeadr

Powys, Wales

Overview

Waterfalls create natural zones of intensified negative ionisation and energetic cleansing. Pistyll Rhaeadr combines the power of falling water with the ancient crystalline geology of the Berwyn Mountains, creating a site where visitors consistently report feeling energised, cleared, and emotionally lighter. The natural rock arch through which the water passes acts as a focusing lens for the site's energy, concentrating the waterfall's cleansing properties.

History, Archaeology & Significance

Pistyll Rhaeadr is the tallest single-drop waterfall in Wales at 73 metres (240 feet), located in the Berwyn Mountains of Powys. The waterfall passes through a natural rock arch halfway down, creating a unique double-cascade effect. The name means 'spring of the waterfall' in Welsh. The site has been a place of pilgrimage and wonder since at least medieval times and is one of the 'Seven Wonders of Wales' listed in a traditional rhyme dating to the 18th century.
