Energy Node

Mt. Diablo

California, USA

Overview

Mount Diablo generates a vast energy field proportional to its position as the dominant peak of the inner Coast Range, visible from and energetically connected to an enormous surrounding territory. The Miwok recognized it as a world-navel site where creation began and continues to radiate outward. The summit energy is expansive and visionary, with the extraordinary views creating a natural state of panoramic awareness that mirrors inner expanded consciousness. Visitors report a sense of centrality, as if standing at the hub of a great wheel. The mountain facilitates big-picture perspective, life-purpose clarity, and connection to creation-time energy.

History, Archaeology & Significance

Mount Diablo rises 1,173 meters in Contra Costa County, California, and was central to the spiritual geography of the Bay Miwok, who called it Tuyshtak (meaning at the dawn of time). The mountain served as a creation site in Miwok cosmology and was the location of the most important ceremonial dances. The summit provides views spanning 200 miles on clear days, encompassing much of central California. Archaeological evidence documents thousands of years of Native use. The mountain's name derives from a Spanish colonial encounter with painted Miwok dancers, whom the soldiers called diablos. The peak is now a State Park.
