Overview
Montségur radiates a solemn intensity shaped by the spiritual conviction of those who chose death over the abandonment of their inner light. The mountain summit channels powerful telluric currents amplified by the dramatic limestone geology, and many visitors report feelings of profound clarity and emotional release. At solstice, the solar alignments through the castle windows suggest the Cathars understood this peak as a place where spirit and matter converge.

History, Archaeology & Significance
Montségur is a ruined fortress perched at 1,207 meters atop a limestone pog in the French Pyrénées, serving as the last major stronghold of the Cathar faith during the Albigensian Crusade. After a ten-month siege in 1243-1244, over 200 Cathar believers chose to be burned alive on a mass pyre rather than renounce their beliefs. The current castle ruins date from the 17th century, built atop the earlier Cathar fortification.
Rory's Field Notes
The Cathar castle on The Pog. One of the World's most sacred sites. Several very low frequency sound lines cross at this location – a 4th Order node on a par with Glastonbury, Newgrange, Jerusalem and Mecca. Only 1st, 2nd and 3rd Order nodes are bigger and more powerful because these are found on the Type 5 Emperor Dragon lines – there are only six pairs of these going around the World. Several hundred Cathars were burnt alive here by the army of Pope Innocent III.
