History, Archaeology & Significance

Lake Leschenaultia is a reservoir located in the Perth Hills of Western Australia, situated within the traditional country of the Noongar people who have inhabited the region for at least 45,000 years. The lake and surrounding jarrah forest landscape hold significance within Noongar cultural geography and dreaming traditions. The reservoir was created in the early 20th century but the broader landscape retains its ancient Indigenous cultural values.
