Overview
El Berro is described by geobiologist Rory Duff as having energies 'off the scale' that have affected the local population in remarkable ways – everyone is notably friendly and community-spirited. The village bakery uses a communal oven where families bring meals for cooking, and uses organic flour that produces bread staying fresh for weeks. The powerful sound energy fields of the Sierra Espuña are among the strongest measured anywhere in the world.

The village sits in a landscape that has been inhabited since prehistoric times, with the surrounding mountains containing traces of Iberian and Roman settlement. The communal baking oven tradition still in use today reflects centuries of community life centered around shared resources in this remote mountain location.
Rory's Field Notes
The beating heart at the centre of the Sierra Espuña. Energies off the scale all around and they have affected people here in a fantastic way. Everyone is wonderfully friendly. The main bakery has a communal oven where villagers bring their meals for cooking. It is the only bakery that uses organic flour for miles around. The bread stays fresh for weeks – the energies provide a rather curious power of their own.
