Energy Node

Beaumaris

Anglesey, Wales

Overview

Beaumaris and Anglesey carry the deep, ancient energy of the Druidic tradition overlaid with the power dynamics of medieval conquest. The island's energy is distinctly otherworldly, reflecting its role in Celtic mythology as a gateway to Annwn, the Celtic otherworld. Despite the castle's military purpose, the underlying sacred landscape continues to emanate its original frequency of wisdom, prophecy, and connection to the natural world. Visitors sensitive to energy often feel the tension between the imposed structure and the wild, untameable spirit of the land beneath, with the older Druidic current ultimately prevailing.

History, Archaeology & Significance

Beaumaris Castle on the Isle of Anglesey was the last and largest of the castles built by Edward I during his conquest of Wales, begun in 1295. Though never fully completed, it represents the pinnacle of medieval military architecture with its concentric design and geometric perfection. Anglesey itself (Ynys Môn) was the sacred centre of the Druids, described by Roman historian Tacitus as the final stronghold destroyed by Paulinus in 60 AD. The island contains numerous prehistoric monuments including burial chambers, standing stones, and the sacred lake of Llyn Cerrig Bach where Iron Age ritual deposits were recovered. The medieval castle thus sits within a landscape of profound pre-Christian spiritual significance.

Castle and church built over a Type 4 node active since Neolithic times. The Menai Strait amplifies everything.
